Welcome to Your Engagement Place (or YEP! for short)!

YEP! is for young Tasmanians under 18 who want to discover ways to engage with CCYP and other organisations to have their voice heard on things that matter to them.

Whether it involves completing surveys, participating in focus groups, or joining fun activities taking place around the state, this place is for YOU.

    Youth Steering Committee

    The Youth Steering Committee is an opportunity to work with the Minister for Youth and the Australian Government to deliver ‘Engage!’, a strategy to include young people in the decision-making process. There are 7 positions available for young people aged 12 to 25 for a term of up to 2 years.

    Working It Out is holding its annual IDAHOBIT day event at the Hobart Conference & Function Centre. There are seven spaces available for children and young people at the Commissioner’s table for this breakfast, available on a first come basis. Register your interest!

    Youth Speak Out

    Youth Speak Out is a creative competition open to students from Year 5 to Year 12. Young people can submit their art, multimedia, speech, letter, poem or whole class project expressing their views about reconciliation!

    The Tasmanian Youth Forum (TYF) is a statewide, youth-driven event for young people aged 12-25. Each year TYF provides a platform for young people to have their say about topics that are important to them, and the changes they want to see implemented.

    2024 What Matters? Tasmania Writing Competition

    What Matters? is a writing competition open to Australian school students in years 5 to 12. Students are asked to respond to the simple question ‘what matters?’ and are free to express their views on any matter they care about.

    National Framework for Respectful Relationships Education

    Monash University, in partnership with Deakin University and the University of Queensland, has been asked by the Government to develop a National Framework for Respectful Relationships Education. They want to know what young people think are the most important parts of respectful relationships education.

    The Australian Government is developing a new youth engagement strategy to improve how they work with young people. If you’re aged 12-25 and want to help them understand what matters to you as a young person, you can attend one of their consultations!
