Changes to the Commissioner’s role

Soon the Government will make new laws that change the way the Commissioner for Children and Young People does their job.

During this time of change, the Commissioner will keep working hard for Tasmania’s children and young people.

The Commissioner cares about what children and young people have to say and will keep making sure adults listen.

This includes listening to children and young people about how they think the Commissioner does their work.

While it can sometimes feel unsettling, change can help improve things.

The Commissioner supports, and is excited about, the changes that will be made. 😊

Have your say!

We want to know what Tasmanian children and young people think about the Government setting up a new Commission for Children and Young People, and will soon share details about an opportunity for everyone to have their say.

To make sure you receive an invitation to share your views, sign up for our free YEP! (Your Engagement Place) alerts, here.

As always, if you have questions for the Commissioner, you can contact her office by phoning (03) 6166 1366 or by sending an email to childcomm@childcomm.tas.gov.au.
