The Commissioner advocates for and monitors the wellbeing of all children and young people in Tasmania. Being a priority focus, a range of publications, including recommendations, are produced in this area.

The Commissioner advocates for policies that divert young Tasmanians from harmful behaviour, and which keep them and the community safe without a criminal justice response. She also advocates for young Tasmanians in detention.
